NIGERIA @ 53 ( A NEW REVOLUTION……,WE MUST NOT SURRENDER)

There is power in hope, there is power in dreams, there is power in conviction’’; avers Barrack Hussein Obama. Beneath all the differences in tribe, language, region, race, faith and religion, we are one people, one nation; we must make a new beginning and redefine our nation.

It’s a vision worth struggling for, even as we keep our hope alive, as a testament to the struggles of those who has gone before, as a legacy to generations who will come later, as a tribute to the patience and endurance of our forefathers, as an assurance that their prayers are being answered, that their works has not been in vain, and that hope is eternal.

We must join hands, interest and ideas to make a standing decision; shall we find peace unity and progress; shall we find freedom and independence, even after so many years of claimed independence or do we still want to continue suffering division and impotence?.
We may have had so much misguided leadership, more abandonment and neglect, a false sense of independence, when we as a nation cannot boast of inter-dependency amongst ourselves. But above all odds, we must make a commitment to new priorities that insures that hope will be kept alive.

We need a common ground and unity in our nation, let’s work together for peace and unity in our nation; a nation where religious crisis thrive- we need a common ground and unity. A nation where bribery and corruption thrive- we need a common ground and unity. A nation where students struggle to gain a paper degree, rather than study to develop their potentials- we need a common ground and unity. A nation where a starved graduate goes in search of a job which does not exist - we need a common ground and unity. A nation where at the hospital admitting room, somebody is dying, because of lack of good medical care, while some privileged few are being flown abroad for proper medical treatment- we need a common ground and unity.

Let’s stand today and be committed to a new direction; for almost 50 years, we’ve been led by those who view social good coming from private interest, who view public life as a means of increasing private wealth, they sacrifice the common good of the masses to satisfy the private interests and wealth of a few.

 Let’s form and believe in a government that’s a tool of our democracy in service to the public, not an instrument of aristocracy, in search of private wealth. We must emerge into a new era with a new direction; leadership must meet the present challenges of this day. What is the present challenge of this day? It is to end economic violence and misguided leadership. What change will we make? We must change direction; leadership must face the moral challenges of our day.

 And then, to our youths; you are the power, strength and future of our nation, hold your head high, we can win, let’s say no to drugs, violence, prostitution, kidnapping, bribery and corruption. We can win; wherever you are today, I challenge you to hope and dream. Don’t submerge your dreams, Robert Schuler posits,’’ don’t kill your dreams, execute it’’, never stop dreaming; don’t stop with the way things are, dream of things as they ought to be, dream even when you face pain, for love, hope and faith will help you rise above the pains. Dream of peace because war and violence is unreasonable, keep dreaming young Nigerians.
Dream of teachers who teach for life and not for a living, dream of doctors who are concerned about public health than private wealth, dream of  lawyers concerned about justice than being a judge, dream  of  preachers who are more concerned  about the pulpit and prophecy than profiting.

Nigeria!! we must never surrender to poverty, malnutrition, violence, unemployment, bribery and corruption when we have all it takes to make us a great nation. We can feed the hungry, and cloth the naked, we must never surrender, we must go forward, we must never surrender to illiteracy, we must never surrender to inequality, don’t surrender my friends. Just hope and dream ; though we cannot buy bread cheaper, we cannot buy meat cheaper, we cannot buy cloths cheaper, we cannot buy milk cheaper, we cannot even get water cheaper, we deserve to be paid well for the jobs that we do, but we must not surrender. You may say, Eze Victor Obinna don’t understand our situation, but I do, we all do, we are all in this together, even our leaders do, our bankers, doctors, civil servants and all others in this nation do, but we must not surrender; the solution is to hope and dream.

HOPE in the face of difficulty and uncertainty, let’s believe in things not seen, let’s believe in better days ahead, let’s believe we can provide job for  the jobless, home for the homeless, cloths for the naked, food for the hungered and reclaim our young people in cities across Africa. I believe we can reclaim our people from violence, we can make the right choices and meet the challenges that we face.

My brothers and friends in the north, south, east and west, in spite of the difficulties and frustrations of the moment, I have a dream, it’s a dream shared by our heroes of freedom. I have a dream that one day my children will live in a nation where they will not be judged based on religion, class, language, region or race but by the content of their character.

I have a dream that one day; our nation will be transformed into an oasis of unity and justice; I have a dream that one day, the sons and daughters of Mohammed, Ibrahim, Musa, and Kayode will be able to sit down together at a table of brotherhood with the sons and daughters of Chukwu, Okafor, Okon, Tamuno and Okorie.
 I have a dream that one day, every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain and the crooked places will be made straight and the glory of God shall be revealed and all ethnic groups in this nation shall see it together.

This is our hope, with faith we will be able to come out of this mountain of despair, with faith we will be able to transform the discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.

Nigeria!! If you feel the same energy that I do, if you feel the same urgency that I do, if you feel the same passion that I do, if you dream the same dream and feel the same hopefulness that I do- then I have no doubt that all across the country, from the north to the south, from the west to the east, the people will rise up and embrace their dream and hope of a better nation. WITH THIS STRONG AFRICAN SPRIRT, LET’S STAND UP TO A NEW REVOLUTION.

REASONS WHY YOU MUST SUCCEEED

      You can accomplish a lot in life. Just get your eyes on what you want. Don't think of the reason you can't have something. Remember what Warren Buffett said. Speaking to a group of students, the billionaire made this statement about the potential to succeed in life,
      “Everybody here has the ability absolutely to do anything I do and much beyond. Some of you will, and some of you won’t. For the ones who won’t, it will be because you get in your own way, not because the world doesn’t allow you. As long as you are moving in the direction of your goals you are a success in my mind. If you are moving in the right direction you will do well in life’’

       Success doesn’t just come to where you are, but from the way you think; both failure and success are the offspring of our thoughts, when you visualize defeat, you’ll be defeated but when you visualize success, you’ll succeed because what you see is what you’ll get. If you’d like to succeed, but think you can’t, you may not succeed, life’s success don’t always go to the strong, best or fastest man, but  the man who thinks he can.   Thomas A. Edison once said that ‘’many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up

      Listen, your greatest success will be when you learn how to turn your pains to gains, shame to fame, zeros to hero, scars to stars, adversities to advantages, attitudes to fortitude, obstacles to miracles, disappointments to appointments, mourning to money, stumbling blocks to stepping stones.

          What is life if one could live without leaving his foot print in the sand of time? I have come to understand that the tragedy of life is not that one has failed but he nearly succeeds. I call it near success syndrome. The truth is that if you’ve not find what you can die for; know that you’re not worthy to live. That’s a burning desire to win otherwise known as passion.

         The day you were born, a seed was planted into the planet earth and every seen has the potentiality of growing into a big tree. It’s a tragedy for a tree to die without expressing its full potentials. Everyone has a great impact that can write his/her name in gold.

       Most people want the government to provide virtually everything for them, the blame the nation’s economy for their failures, but listen, you don’t need Nigeria to succeed, but Nigeria needs you. The reasons why you must succeed are;

      You are created by the Best (GOD) to be the best and for the best.
      You have more energy that challenges will be unable to consume.
      The ions in your body can conduct electricity.
      Your brain cells produce about 25 watts of current.
      There’s no bank on earth that’s as rich as your mind.
      No computer can be compared to your weakest brain cell.
      The glucose in you is enough to feed a nation.
      The potassium and calcium in your blood peripheral can cause an explosion
       You’re more powerful than you think you are!!!

7 THINGS TO EXPECT FROM A MAN BEFORE MARRIAGE

Marriage is an institution you shouldn't rush into for admission, a covenant that was meant to last for a lifetime and a commitment of- for better, for worse. It has fulfilled the lives of many and has also ruined that of many. Before saying a yes filled with joy, happiness and celebration to any man offering you an engagement ring or wedding ring, there are several things to look out from this man, otherwise, you may end up with him giving you another marriage ring called suffering.
 Things to look out from your man before saying yes are;

GOD FEARING MAN;
Marriage is an institution ordained by God, as a union void of this great ordination is headed for calamity. This is the first and most important thing to ascertain before saying yes to any man, ascertain if he is a God fearing man. Listen, 70% of men I've come across wants a God fearing woman, even when they themselves are wolves amongst sheep. You too should look out for God fearing men.

Never say yes to a man whom you question his submission to the Supreme Being called God. You must learn to place God above the so called love you have for him. It doesn't matter if you are the only one on God's side, what matter is; are you both on God's side?  Know that a God fearing man who loves you will always live to love and cherish you, since God the bible say is love.

LOVE CONQUERS ALL;
Although love is not all that matters to say yes to marrying any man, but it is still an important factor and determinant of any union. Love many say conquers all, but never allow your love for any man or his love for you to affect your reasoning. If he proposes to you because of your beauty....run, because that beauty may fade away someday and this may be a sign of lust or infatuation. If it’s because of your natural shape and curves, your wealth or inheritance, run my dear...because I remember my aged grandmother once had all those characteristics, but they are almost all gone and nobody will like to visit her now if she should be a city, or ask her out for a date.

Marry a man that loves you for whom you are rather than what you are or have. Many men wishes to marry professional ladies who are on top of their careers, there's nothing wrong with this, but some will never consider her as a person, run from this kind of men, they are the lazy and weak type.

GENERATIONAL THINKERS
Marriage is a life time commitment. To fulfill your purpose in life, you must also have a partner that captures your vision and motivates you to fulfill it. Don't just marry him because you love him or because he is rich, ask yourself if he's the type that has great ideas, plans and vision that will form a perfect future for both of you. Loving him alone will not leave a lasting legacy for your unborn children, his money may not also out live him, but it will only take a man with vision and purpose for living to make a generation and future filled with great accomplishment. Look out for a man with vision, a generational thinker, who plans for the future.

YOU DESERVE HIS RESPECT
A man should respect you before he is given the chance to love you, and a man who doesn't respect you doesn’t deserve your friendship, not to talk of being your husband.
A husband opening the car door for his wife is not because she is incapable of doing so, but because he is symbolically placing his masculine strength at her service, as a reminder of their marriage vows. If he doesn't respect and treat you like a woman during courtship, he will not do so after marriage.

But respect isn't one sided, women must also learn to respect the men folks, irrespective of his statue, wealth or personality, as this is a symbol of their masculinity endowed to them by providence, only then will you get the respect you deserve.

IS HE YOUR FRIEND
I tagged one of my articles....MARRY YOUR FRIEND. Sometimes we claim we are in love with someone, but find it difficult to confide in him in matters concerning us or the relationship, so as not to lose him. If you cannot confide on your partner, your relationship is headed for destruction, if it eventually leads to marriage, both of you will live in different world of uncertainty.

DOES HE LISTEN TO YOU?
Research has proven that men are attracted by what they see and women by what they hear. But a husband material though attracted and satisfied by what he sees in his woman must also learn to give a listening ear when she talks. Yes, the female folks are attracted by what they hear, but they are more relaxed with a man who listens while they talk, narrate and gist rather than men who shut them up, giving them little or no time to express their own feelings.

Ladies must learn to look out for men who give them their undivided attention and time, who listens to them and cares about their worries.

FINANCIAL FREEDOM;
One of my friends once said, ‘‘every guy wants to marry a beautiful girl, but not every guy can maintain her beauty''...... Before you say a YES to any man, you must consider if he's financially independent, can he take care of you more than you took care of yourself as a spinster? What is he bringing into the relationship, it mustn't just be love. If he's still living in his family house, run my dear. If he still relies on his family for his daily needs, run.

Don't get it twisted, you may wonder why I placed the issue of finance almost last, its because the bank statement of any man is not his true worth. Don't say yes to a man because he is rich, don't say no because you think he's poor, but look out for men that are financially free and independent, with financial intelligence, hardworking, possesses great ideas for success, excellence and in business and can take care of you and your children if you should marry him, as well as other needs.

Wealth is something that comes to the strong and smartest people, with your ideas synchronized in his; you both can build tremendous wealth together. During courtship, discipline him to save and invest, if he can't, run for your own good, because any man who cannot save and invest, may not build much wealth.

Lastly, never look out for the expectations of others when choosing Mr. Right, but look out for your own expectations. You are the one who's going to wear the shoe, purchase your size and not that of your friends or family members. You may receive their advice, but go for that which is best for you.

Live your life, love you life and heal our world with love....one love from Eze Victor Obinna.
